A circle as community

Joseph, 12th grader, on restorative circles

Joseph, a 12th grader in Brooklyn, says Restorative Circles are "different": Usually in class, "you're aligned and in a desk. You're behind someone, someone's behind you, and you don't really get to communicate properly.  You  have to turn back or turn around [to talk face to face].  A circle is different because it's like a community.  You talk, you see everyone's faces, everyone's reactions, emotions, and I feel like you connect much better."
